Ongoing support of Disciple institutions, students and faculty pursuing a vocation in the ministry is important to Oklahoma Disciples as shown through our many endowed funds:
Phillips Theological Seminary (1981) To support operational or capital expenses of the seminary
Phillips Theological Seminary Scholarship Fund (1996) To provide scholarship aid to students preparing for ministry at Phillips Theological Seminary
Ministers Week at Phillips Theological Seminary (1999) Helps fund the Ministers Week event, which enables pastors to gather for renewal through continuing education
United Ministries in Higher Education, Stillwater (1992) The Oklahoma United Ministries in Higher Education on the Oklahoma State University campus in Stillwater uses income from this fund for operations and programming
Jarvis Christian College Scholarship (1995) To provide scholarships for Disciple ministerial students enrolled at Jarvis Christian College, Hawkins, TX. This college is a fully accredited, co-educational institution with a historically African-American heritage that has been associated with the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) since its inception.
Association of Disciple Musicians (ADM) Endowment Fund (2007) To provide an annual contribution to be used to offset the cost of the National Annual Conference. This contribution can be used for all expenses associated with the Annual Conference including clinician fees, brochure production, newsletter mailings and web site fees as several examples.
ECHO – St. Louis Children's Home (1993) Unrestricted use determined by the administration of ECHO
World Convention – Churches of Christ (1988) Unrestricted use by the Executive Director of the World Convention of Christian Churches and Churches of Christ
Oklahoma Conference of Churches (1999) Provides a statewide community of Christian Communions working to make the unity of Oklahoma's churches visible, bringing a common witness, mission and study and, when appropriate, a focused political action |
